The SCAnnerThe SCAnner is SCA's newsletter, providing readers with members' recovery stories and members' experiences with working a program of recovery. Some of the issues of the SCAnner are archived online. Here is a list of those issues, along with each issue's special focus. Click on the link to view the issue. Some of the more recent issues are in Adobe pdf format and require Adobe Acrobat Reader, a free download, to open and view. Contribute Your Experience, Strength, and HopeThe SCAnner Editor is currently (May 2006) in the process of rehabilitating this fellowship's newsletter to give it an inviting and fresh new look. The new SCAnner will primarily be published in a web-based format. For those of you without access to a computer, fret not! A print version will still be available for your group or intergroup to download and distribute. The heart and soul of the SCAnner has and will continue to be the contributions by fellowship members. Traditionally, these have been our members' stories. The new SCAnner will continue to spotlight these, but it will feature other types of contents, as well. Basically, the Editor encourages that members submit anything that's publishable on the web. So, go ahead and submit your drawings, photos, animation, haikus or other creative expression of your recovery. Record your audio share, as well! These should not be longer than 5 minutes. Plans are in the works for a mini-Summer 2006 issue with the topic "Coming Out as a Sex Addict". It will become available online toward the end of August, and there is a strict 7/28/06 submission deadline. If you have a personal story of experience, strength, and hope in respect to this topic that you'd like to share, submit it! Many of us sex addicts struggle with the question of to disclose or not disclose? Your experience is valuable to other addicts. The SCAnner is in need of long stories (600-1200 words or about 1-3 double-spaced pages). Additionally, the editor seeks contributions for a new feature: "Short Shares." These should run about 200 words or a 1/2 double-spaced page. If the SCAnner is our meeting in print, think about the long stories as qualifications and the "short shares" as members' shares. Illustrations, photos, or any other graphic representation that creatively express this topic will also be considered. These should be submitted via email in an electronic format. Mp3 format preferred for audio contributions. The next issue (Winter 2006) will feature a "Slips and Relapses" theme. The same submission criteria above apply. No submission deadline has been set for this issue. All submissions should keep in the spirit of the 12 traditions and the SCAnner editor reserves the right to edit any content as deemed necessary and decide which content is published and which is not. Get working and submit! The SCAnner Editor looks forward to your contributions of experience, strength, and hope! Submit to: scannereditor@sca-recovery.org SCAnner Archives
