Accessing the International Meeting ListThe easiest way to find a meeting is to access SCA's International Meeting List. The SCA International Service Organization makes every effort to keep this list up to date, but our information is only as good as the faithfulness of the volunteers who provide it to us. Contact information for some individual meetings and for geographic areas is listed if we have it.
The International Meeting List is in the members-only area of this website. To access it, you need to know the User Name and the Password. We restrict this information to members of SCA or to those who qualify for membership. To obtain this information, click here for a form that sends an email to a volunteer from the SCA International Service Organization. In sending the email request, you are acknowledging either that you are a member of SCA or that you qualify for membership in SCA. (The Third Tradition states that "the only requirement for SCA membership is a desire to stop having compulsive sex.") The volunteer will respond with the User Name and Password. Both the User Name and Password need to be entered in all-capital letters to work. Accessing SCA Online Meetings
The gateway to the online meetings is also located in the members-only area. Once
you have the User Name and Password, you can click on the online meetings link and go to
several different types of meetings, some continuous and some scheduled at
particular times. To obtain
this information, click here for a form that sends an email to a volunteer
from the SCA International Service Organization. In
sending the email,
you are acknowledging either that you are a member of SCA or that you qualify
for membership in SCA. (The Third
Tradition states that "the only requirement for SCA membership is a
desire to stop having compulsive sex.") The volunteer will
respond with the User Name and Password. Both the User Name and
Password need to be entered in all-capital letters to work. A list of the online meetings is maintained in the International Meeting List.
The user name and password work for both the online meetings and the
International Meeting List. Please note that SCA's online meetings are continuously functioning chat boards. SCA operates no telephone or IRC chat room meetings. Two other sexual recovery fellowships, SAA and SLAA (follow links for information about these fellowships), do provide telephone and chat meetings. It only takes two people to have an SCA meeting, but starting it is another story. These basic guidelines and questions are designed to assist you in starting a meeting of Sexual Compulsives Anonymous. You may order a "starter kit" that includes a booklet with this material plus (a) the yellow SCA four-fold, (b) a copy of the SCA “Blue Book,” (c) a copy of Secret Shame, and (d) a copy of Q&A. All of these materials were compiled and produced by members of SCA. If you are interested in starting an SCA meeting in your area where there are no SCA meetings and would like to know if others nearby you are also interested, complete a form that will send an email to the SCA International Coordinator. The form will ask for your first name and last initial, your city or town, and an email address for others in your area to contact you. The International Coordinator will respond and will assist you in starting an SCA meeting in your area.. A Quick Guide to This Material
Congratulations! The Twelve Traditions of SCA form the framework for all SCA meetings and our community. Our First Tradition states, "Personal recovery depends upon SCA unity." You are weaving a very important part of that unity by starting a meeting in your community. You are encouraged to read the Twelve Traditions as a means of laying the roots of a meeting and your recovery in healthy soil. You are taking a very helpful and encouraging step toward your recovery, as well as strengthening the well-being of our program and its outreach services. So, when someone calls us and asks, "Do you have a meeting in my area?" we can proudly say, "YES!" -- all because of your efforts. Thank you!
